Some Unsolicited Advice to Myself

At the start of this New Year, I resolved not to give any unsolicited advice—a habit I’ve held for a long time and one I wasn’t particularly proud of. Despite my efforts, I couldn’t resist sharing this, as I feel it might resonate with you. These are lessons I’ve tried to apply in my life that have profoundly changed the way I view the world. 1. The Analogy of Raavanudu (Raavan) and Ramudu (Great Ram) I can’t recall exactly where I picked up this analogy, but it has transformed how I perceive people and myself. How we should view others: We need to cultivate the patience and courage to be like Rama, who could see multiple heads in a person. Every human has multiple facets or “personalities.” If we fail to recognize this complexity, we risk generalizing or stereotyping them. By acknowledging and appreciating the different “heads” in people—their strengths, weaknesses, and nuances—we can foster deeper understanding and appreciate the harmony it brings to our existence.

Ambedkar A Life by Shashi Tharoor

From my perspective, this book offers a comprehensive account of the life and legacy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The first part of the book primarily focuses on his life, starting from his birth, the incidents of discrimination that he faced, his academic achievements, and his political career. It also covers his role as the chairman of the drafting commission and his rivalry with Mahatma Gandhi. However, I did feel that the book had a limited account of his childhood, and I expected it to delve deeper into this aspect of his life. The second part of the book mainly explores the legacy that Ambedkar carried and his ideas of equality, not just in terms of caste discrimination but also regarding class and gender discrimination. The book discusses his views on women's rights and his ideas on equality that transcend caste barriers. That being said, the book also highlights some of his flaws, such as his blind spot towards tribes and his views on Hinduism and Hindu society, which can be seen ...

Essence of Ganesh Chaturthi

Devotion is not measured with the height of idols but with the weight in hearts                            not with the decibels of sound, but with the soothing empathy                            not with the expensive decoration, but with a bit of compassion                            not with the auctions, but with the actions toward needy The concept of celebrating the Ganesh festival as a social gathering was started during the freedom struggle by the leaders like Bala Gangadhar Tilak. The purpose of celebrations is to unite and educate Indians about the essence of freedom from British rule. India celebrated spectacular 75 years of Independence, and it still possesses many problems compared to British India. I hope this generation understand...

Kings Master Plan

Once upon a time, there lived a King in a very vast empire. He ordered his soldiers to rob all the food grains from his people. The next day, people rushed to the King and pleaded with him to catch the robbers and get back their food grains. In desperation to get back their grains, they created a commotion, and many of the poor people died in the event. Several days have passed, and people started dying from hunger. One fine day the King came out of his court and said that he failed to catch the robbers, and he decided to donate his own food grains to the people. People went back to their homes elated and uttering "Long Live King!", "Long Live Kingdom!".  You all know where the food grains came from? -Prithvi Sangani

Who is to blame?

In the midst of the ongoing pandemic, it is undeniable that individuals are facing significant challenges both emotionally and physically. As someone who has observed the situation, I would like to express my perspectives on this crisis and the different parties involved.  It is widely acknowledged that the increasing number of cases and fatalities due to COVID has raised questions about who is responsible for controlling the situation. The public has been criticized for not following COVID protocols, while the Government has been blamed for not taking necessary actions to control the pandemic. However, I would like to approach this problem from a different perspective. As someone with knowledge of how the Government works, I believe it is essential to take a neutral stance on this issue. It is important to note that politicians do not run the Government; rather, they are the executive authorities. The bureaucracy or the "Sarkari babus" runs the Government, and these individu...
